Het heeft veel te lang geduurd voordat ik weer bij Herman en Amanda terug ben gekeerd naar Portugal.
Was natuurlijk weer heel erg gezellig.
Inmiddels heb ik een Avocado die naar mij vernoemd is, laten we hopen dat die boom het verplaatsen gaat overleven.

Lieve Amanda en Herman,
Na een paar uitputtende weken thuis door het overlijden van Pieter zijn vader, helemaal bijgekomen!
De afgelopen week vloog voorbij.
Het gezellig samenzijn, in en om het huis rommelen, lekker eten.
Samen met Amanda ouwe meuk bekeken en gekocht. De katten geknuffeld en helaas de kleinste bijna geplet. Walnoten geraapt en kiloooo's appels geschild.
In het mooie appartement geslapen, wezen chinezen en lekkere croissantjes gegeten. Geknutseld, afgewassen, vlierbessenwijn gedronken en te veel gebakjes gegeten.
Het was heerlijk en veels te kort!
Nu op de valreep nog ff limoncello proeven.
Allebei heel erg bedankt voor alles en tot de volgende keer!

Thank you for this great WorkAway experience! It was interesting for me to get to know your Auswanderer experience 😉
I had so much fun with Snowflake (especially with his bathroom-time), Gaia and the other cats, the wild and the not-so-wild goats and of course the loving dogs, Your Quinta is such a beautiful place. I truly lost the feeling for time.
I hope you enjoy all the upcoming projects and you enjoy your Auswanderer-life at its fullest.

Lieve Herman & Amanda,
Ik vond het ontzettend leuk en gezellig om bij jullie op 'de boerderij' te mogen verblijven.
Fijn om jullie te zien! Ik heb er bewondering voor hoe jullie een nieuw huis en leven hebben opgebouwd, én hoe jullie samen alle tegenslagen trotseren. Jullie creëren een relaxte sfeer, zelfs als er een plotselinge watercrisis is. Ik gun jullie nog vele jaren plezier, avontuur, rust en voldoening in Portugal (mits jullie af en toe nog eens in Nederland verschijnen 😃)
Het appartement is trouwens super comfortabel en het bed slaapt hééérlijk!

I really enjoyed my time here hanging out with you and of course the dogs, the cats, the goats and the chicken.
You both are very kind and funny people with a great attitude towards life and I enjoyed all the 'lekker' talks we had!
I really appreciate that you welcomed me into your home in such a loving way.
And thank you for feeding me with all the jam and everything else! I know it's not an easy job with the amounts I eat.
It was great that you encouraged me to make the Semmelknödel and I hope you will eat them again.
Your food was always very lekker!
I hope we will meet again someday.

Dear Herman,
Before I arrived at your place, I felt a little bit nervous, mostly because of my 'ok' previous WorkAway experience. When you picked me up at bus station, all my worries slipped away instantly.
After that my whole journey was like I was a Christmas elf having fun with the young Santa Claus at his holiday Quinta.
The tasks you gave me were truly big fun! I really enjoyed our little construction practices. they were pretty useful for me, made with awareness, but without overdoing.
It was also very enjoyable walking with the dogs, they're so adorable!
I still don't understand how can the goats deserve so much energy from you, but maybe they can fly only around Christmas time.
Thank you for having me for such a long time, making unique meals, welcoming Panna, too, bringing me to several places, and for every other things!

Voor het eerst sinds jullie hier wonen, ben ik hier geweest als "toerist" en "vakantieganger", en wat een heerlijkheid.
Weliswaar toch een hoop "werk" met de beesten, maar dat geeft alleen maar een leuk ritueel en structuur aan de oh-zo relaxte dagen. Wat een genot.
16 dagen vol plezier, lekkernijen, prachtig weer en goed gezelschap.
Jammer wel dat jullie er beiden niet bij waren dit keer, maar Evert en ik zijn een fantastisch team en hebben er volop van kunnen genieten.
Dit komen we (als het kan met werk 🙂 ) heeel gauw weer doen! Dank je wel voor het vertrouwen en de mogelijkheid.
Het was fantastisch!
Heel veel liefs en dikke plakzoenen.

Queridos Herman e Amanda
Que honra foi passar essas duas semanas aqui na Quinta. Não tive o prazer de conhecer a Amanda pessoalmente, só por chamada de vÃdeo.
E o que falar do Herman? Um ser humano incrÃvel, de um coração gigante. Sempre me ensinando e mostrando como fazer as tarefes diárias.
Para minha primeira experiência com a WorkAway, foi incrÃvel ter o Herman como meu primeiro anfitrião. Vou sentir muito falta de tudo aqui, das cabras, gatos, galinhas e dos cães, em especial minha amiga Karma. Foi tudo muito perfeito, acomodação, alimentação muito boa. O Herman é um bom cozinheiro. Também tive a oportunidade de fazer uma feijoada deliciosa. Tive a prazer de conhecer amigos do Herman, que são super legais.
Minha eterna gratidão e quero muito voltar aqui.

Despite having to cut our trip short we both really enjoyed our time at your quinta. We will look back fondly on our times getting muddy, cuddling the animals and trying to herd the goats home!
